Welcome to Middle Nursery
Middle Nursery is specially designed to provide a warm, safe and nurturing space for children who have SEND. The SENDCO and SEND team offer an enhanced ratio to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences for children who attend our school.
It fosters opportunities for sensory regulation and processing, targeted support and individualised learning to meet a range of diverse needs. Every opportunity is taken to personalise and extend next steps in learning in an environment where children are able to fully participate and thrive.
Our approach to adaptive teaching aims to reduce children’s anxieties by providing early interventions focusing on cognition and learning, physical and sensory needs, communication and interaction and social and emotional development. We follow children’s interests and encourage them to become more independent through free play, learning to play co-operatively, to take turns and express themselves as they develop as unique individuals.
Our ethos of holistic and inclusive practice is key in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and developmental needs, enabling them to flourish and to reach their full potential.
