Early Years Pupil Premium

This is an additional £302 per financial year for each eligible 3 and 4 year old

if they are receiving all or part of the free 15 hours entitlement.

Is my child eligible?

A child will be eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium if:-

A.  Their parents are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits or credits

  • Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

  • Child Tax Credit, but NOT Working Tax Credit, with an annual gross income of no more than £16190

  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Or

B.  The child has

  • Been adopted from care

  • Left care through Special Guardianship

  • Been or is subject to a child arrangement order (formerly known as residence order)

Or

C.  The child has been

  • Looked After by the local authority for at least one day

 

How do I apply?

If you think you are eligible, please fill in the form which is in your Admissions pack  and return it to nursery staff with the supporting evidence.  This will allow us to claim the additional funding.  We receive 53p per hour per eligible child and this additional money can make a significant difference.

We can use this additional funding to improve the quality of the early years education that we provide for your child.  This could include, for example, additional training for our staff on early language, investing in partnership working with our colleagues in the area to further our expertise, or supporting staff in working on specialised areas such as speech and language.
